(More customer reviews)I work in a library full of computers, where we have both a wired network and a wireless network running from different ISPs. We wanted to add wireless capability to more of our computers in case of trouble with the ISP that powers the wired network. We've had good luck with the Netgear WG111v3, and even better luck with the Dell Wireless 1450 USB Adapter (802.11 a/b/g). The Netgear V3 version at least picks up the wireless signal in our building, and one other network in the neighborhood. The Dell picks up six or seven networks! (Too bad they've discontinued that one.)
This V2 version only picks up our signal on a computer that is literally one foot from our wifi broadcast antenna. At the next computer, five feet away, it cannot connect at all. In fact, we've tried the V2 on 4 different computers which connect fine using the other adapters, and it only works on that one computer that is right next to the antenna.
